TASK 1.
Speech 1.
You are a primary school teacher. You should give a speech to your third graders on the following topic: “Why children should listen to their parents.”- Why should I want to talk about this? I want to talk about this because it is really important topic. Children do not understand that they don’t know a lot of significant things about everyday life and I am as teacher should explain them, but in easy of access way.
- Why should anybody want to listen to me? Many children come across misunderstanding from the direction of parents. Consequently, it will be relevant topic for them.
- What single message would I want to put across? « You should listen to your parents because, they genuinely care for your well-being. They want you to be successful in life, as well as to be happy. Sometimes it seems for you that it is overprotection. Actually, the reason is that they don’t want you to hurt yourself, but not because they don't want you to have fun with your friends»
- What need in the audience do I want to have satisfied when I have finished speaking? I believe that after my speech children will think over my words and draw a conclusion.
- When they all walk away what state would I like them to leave in? I want them to feel support from me. I don’t want to speak with them like small children I want to explain really crucial things by simple words and I want them to have feeling of proud of theirself that they can realize and accept that they should listen to their parents not because they are small, because their parents really love them.
Speech 2.
You are working as a team leader in a summer language camp
with high school students from the whole region. On the second day you are
noticing that some guys and girls hesitate to meet new people or make friends
within the team. You decide to take action and give a talk to your team stating
“You will learn most from friends that are different from you.”- Why should I want to talk about this? I want to talk about this topic because I had an experience in such deal, and I think it can be useful for some people to listen to me, I like to share my thoughts because it is actually truth that you can take a lot of new properties from a friend that is not similar to you.
- Why should anybody want to listen to me? From my point of view, many people have different surrounding around them, that is why, it is necessary to notice others people features. However, some people cannot do it and even do not think about it.
- What single message would I want to put across? I want to reveal to the world unique other people outlook and its strength.
- When they all walk away what state would I like them to leave in? I want them to think about peculiarities of their friend and start noticing unusual things and what they can learn and take over from others
Speech 3.
You are taking part at 2018 World Champion of Public Speaking “Toastmasters” and you are going to give a speech “Embarrassing moments make you stronger.”
- Why should I want
to talk about this? Firstly, I want to give a support. Secondly, I want to
share with my experience and maybe spare an important thought that have never
come into the mind another person.
- Why should anybody want to listen to me? Every man faces with difficult situations, embarrassment moments, disappointed tings and many other negative points but not every person can overcame it and accept it in the right way. Perhaps, my speech will help some people make the right decision in some cases.
- What single message would I want to put across? People should understand that it’s perfectly normal to feel anger, upset, embarrassment, grief. Generally speaking, we should not numb negative emotions, because when we numb fear, shame, grief we numb positive emotions, such as joy, gratitude, happiness and we cannot make yourself stronger without our weak points.
- When they all walk away what state would I like them to leave in? I want to make my audience feel relief, I want them to understand that our weaknesses are our strength and peculiarities. To be vulnerable means to overcome difficulties and be better than yesterday.
- Why should anybody want to listen to me?
