“Imperfection is beauty, madness is genius and it's
better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring” this quote make me
think about maybe the most important thing in our life – being yourself.
I want to tell you a story.
Well, I live in the hostel and, you know, there are a
lot people there, all of them are different. Everyone has its own habits,
peculiarities, strangeness and behavior.
In these conditions, you have to live and learn how to communicate with
different people. However, it is very important to fell the boarders between
politeness and indulgence of somebody’s desire. You shouldn’t be afraid of saying that you really don’t
like, you should not agree with the majority if you have another opinion. In
other case, people will think that all is well, you agree to live as they want
and they never know about your point of view.
Who you are and say what you feel makes you brave, strong,
independent, and what is more
interesting person.
Why
we should be yourself. Now I want to
give you some reasons
1. When you
are able to have a solid foundation of being you, you are establishing your own
sense of identity. No matter what happens in your life, you will always know
who you are.
2. When you
are not yourself, you will take on the values and beliefs of others. This is
when you start conforming to other people’s expectations and way of thinking.
When you know your values and why you do what you do, you will live according
to your own values and beliefs
3. Build
courage. It takes a great amount of courage when you decide to take the
path that goes against the crowd. The reason why the majority of people take
the broad path is because it’s easy. It’s easy to just follow the crowd. It’s
more of a challenge when you stay true to yourself and establish your own
identity.
4. When you
stay true to who you are, you are more likely to know the goals you want to achieve
.You are able to stay focused and know which direction to take in order for you
to accomplish your goals.
Actually,
not being yourself is like a disease. This
case even has a name in medicine. It calls – depersonalization.
What is it?
It’s a kind of panic attack. Depersonalization seems to occur when you have
become less involved with what's going on around you, especially the people
around you, (and become preoccupied
with your own thoughts. These are typically not thoughts about your immediate
surroundings, but thoughts of other people, times and places. The less energy
and attention you bring to your immediate circumstances, the more your thoughts
wander toward ideas that can only happen in your imagination.)
To avoid this disease and consequences of not
being yourself you just should:

Firstly, understand that your mistakes are part of
your learning. There is no right way to do anything. Just look at yur past as
an adventurous biography

Secondly, don’t compare yourself to others because you
are not them
·
Thirdly, accept your weaknesses as your features
·
What is more, stand up for what you belive even ots
unpopular it will also your feature which can help you to show your
individuality
·
Moreover, surround you people who want you to be
successful
·
Finally, express your emotions in a creative way
In my
conclusion I would like to say, being yourself is something you have to choose
every day. It is not just in your attitude — it is in every decision you make. It
is in every look you give, every word you utter, every step you walk.
(No matter what you experience in life, the
only person that will always remain constant is you)
